The Republican Convention

I was watching the U.S Republican Party Convention with anticipation. Well, off course the reason for it was truly because of the Republican's nominee for Vice President, the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.

It is quite interesting that Republican's nominee for President, John Mccain picked the Alaskan Governor as running mate. Litte is known of Sarah Palin but the story behind her success is quite astonishing.

She was a mayor for a small town in rural Alaska then became Governor of Alaska. She studied journalism and political science. A mother of 5 with her eldest son serving in the military and despatching to Iraq in a few weeks. Youngest son is autistic. A conservertive. She faught corruption in her state and in her own party. Saved billions of tax payers money and made development for the state of Alaska using Alaskan money. As Commander in Chief of the Alaskan National Guards, she did not order the son and daughters of Alaskans to war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

She also did not project the feminist attitude. She did not appeal to the female voters or say anything that advocate women's rights. Maybe because she was a mayor and now a state Governor and this made her think that gender bias does not exist. Simply by avoiding the feminist attitude she is saying to all women that actually men and woman of the 21st century are already equal. I applaud her.

She has no qualms to say it out loud the reason behind the tensions in eastern europe particularly Russia. She said it was because of energy and pipelines something that the political leaders at present didn't say. It was a jab aimed at those who avocate the U.S intervention in the Cacaucus. Signals that she is a realist.

She also did not mentioned Israel or any other Jewish interest and avoided lebelling Islam as terrorist. Rudy Guiliani, the speaker before Palin went to take the podium said it out loud, 'Islamic Terrorist' and mentioned 'Israel' and 'Jewish interest'. Sarah Palin did not. Her speech was centered on American interest and mentioned 'Terrorist' only. Rudy Guiliani went so far to say that everybody shouldn't be ashame to say 'Islamic Terrorist'. I was appalled.

John Mccain and Sarah Palin make a good combination team as the new President and Vice President of the U.S. John Mccain as Commander in Chief and handles foreign policy while Sarah Palin handles domestic policy and internal affairs. A good combination for Americans. A combination of 'Checked and Balanced' in the White House.

It will be interesting to see which team Americans will choose as their new President and Vice President. It seems both teams has a chance.
