1.Cyber Attacks
Watching the movie 'Die Hard 4-Live Free and Die Hard' gave me goosebumps. It's really scary if you think seriously about it. Almost everything is run by computers nowdays. Only a few systems still runs on close circuits boards.
Computer networks controlling electricity supplies, telecommunications and banking are being attacked thousands of times a day in a new cyberwar against western countries waged by criminals and terrorists and some of them backed by foreign states.
Intelligence organisations such as the British MI5 have given warning of the threat of "cyber-espionage" and "cyber-attacks" is on the rise. Security experts said that any successful attack would be likely to result from a hacker exploiting the part of a computer system that was connected to the internet.
Here in Malaysia, we’re building a house of cards at the moment, connecting elements of our financial systems, as well as the systems which control power or water distribution, to the internet, and it’s a very open environment. Anybody can launch an attack on us from anywhere.
I wonder if we have a 'Anti-Cyberwar' centre here. And if we do, is it competant enough?
2.Religious Tentions in Neighbouring Countries. (Something to think about and Learned)
2.1 Indonesia
Hundreds of Christian theology students have been living in tents since a mob of angry Muslim neighbors stormed their campus last month wielding bamboo spears and hurling Molotov cocktails. The incident comes amid growing concern that Indonesia's tradition and religious beleive is under threat.
People are still tolerant, but there is a growing suspicion among Muslims of others according to one member of the school. Independent corespondents said that police have failed to prevent both attacks on minorities and the forced closure of Christian churches and nontraditional mosques by mobs incited by radical Muslims. They added that the state has some responsibility for this growing intolerance, namely by not upholding the law.
Are there similarities to whats hapening in Malaysia now? Are we going to wait untill this kind of religious tentions becomes real in Malaysia? The authorities not going to uphold the Law? Aren't the Internal Security Act and Seditious Act is designed for this kind of problems?
2.2 Philippines
Moro Islamic Liberation Front guerrillas angry over snags in the peace plan went on a rampage Aug. 18 in the southern hinterlands, shooting or hacking to death at least 37 people as they fled in panic from houses that had been set on fire.
Just weeks ago, a deal to end a decades-long insurgency in the troubled south had seemed within reach after the government and the rebels initialed an agreement on the crucial point of ancestral domain of Muslim autonomous area.
But Christian politicians, wary of losing land and power, challenged the deal in the Supreme Court. Then the muslims armed rebels described as frustrated with yet another delay in the peace process led their group of men on raids Monday on coastal towns in provinces of southern Mindanao island, killing 37 people and sending 44,000 fleeing their homes.
The fight for 'ancestral domain'?. Sounds familiar? Luckily here in Malaysia we dont have armed Malay Muslims extremist and Militants. If there was, with the state of intolerance now fuelled by our irresponsible politicians, there would have been bloodshed in Malaysia.
3. DAP Annual Meeting At PWTC
The DAP has vowed to progress further, with the aim of having its annual meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) according to it's chairman Karpal Singh.
First time that an opposition party holding an annual meeting at the PWTC.
BN? Keeping quiet on the matter? Well, it's a free country anyway. Good luck DAP.
4. Anwar Ibrahim the Bridge?
Karpal Singh said that he believed that only one man could bridge the divide between DAP and PAS was Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said that he believe that only Anwar can become the middleman between Pas and DAP. Karpal said that he, Anwar, is not the Anwar that he used to criticise. He beleive that he, Anwar, is now a changed Anwar and that he believe in him.
Are you kidding me? No matter what you say or claim, you, Karpal, only potray yourself as a hypocrite. Another matter, Pas had, on numerous occasions, voiced its intention to create an Islamic state while the DAP, opposing this, wanted a secular Malaysia for all Malaysians. Conflicting ideologies isn't it. Everyone knows this.
Karpal stressed that DAP would never compromise with its basic principles and noted that "change must come in the matter of principle". Matter of principles? What principles? You change your ideologies just to fit your political agendas. One doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to see right through your hypocritical statements.
One more thing, Anwar is no bridge. He is just a stooge used by DAP so that they can gained support from PAS and not to mentioned the Malay masses. It's just another DAP ploy to further their agendas. This, everyone also knows.
