Excessive Freedom

The disproportionate experimentation with freedom of almost everything printable, speakable and “blogable”, has done more harm than good for Malaysia. The current leadership under Dato' Seri Abdullah has not just generated the so called 'freedom of speech and expression', it also has generated fear,anger and frustration among the masses. Everything now is so polarized.

We are all vastly educated nowadays. Be it at universities here or abroad or the respectable PhD at Street-Life universities abound. Maybe this is the problem. Since all are more less 'western educated', they are all shouting and claiming for 'freedom of speech' and 'freedom of expression' which in the western world are sacred.

Dont these people realize that the 'west' and the 'east' are located differently in geographics and hense different cultures. What may be good for them is not necessarily good for us.

Freedom of speech and freedom of expression, given to much creates excessive freedom. The chief concern is the apparent inactions at many levels in the executive echelon today. The very top leadership himself is silent and hushed almost begging for serenity in politics. He gave to much freedom just to remain popular. Excessive freedom, all in one shot and minus control is negligent and naive. So to speak.
