1.The Permatang Pauh By-Election
If I was the head honco in charge for this by-election for Barisan Nasional, I would have fielded a candidate and at the last moment, pull out of the race. Giving the way to the Honorable Dato' Seri Anuar Ibrahim to win uncontested. He would then enter parliment. There is where all the fun begins. I can think of 100 ways to toy around with him there. Actually, by contesting in the by-election itself, saudara Anuar, has assassinated himself. I mean character assassination. It would be rather fun to see how our BN MP's reaction in parliment when the Honorable Dato' Seri Anuar Ibrahim enters the House of Representatives. But i'm not going to expect anything more than just plain idiotic behavior from our parlimentarians. Both side of the isles.
2. MAS Voluntary Seperation Scheme (VSS)
Back then, VSS was offered to MAS employees. It was said that a senior employee could get between RM150K to RM250K. It was a lot of money. If one could manage their financial affairs correctly, the money could be use to open a small business. But sadly, 90% of MAS employees are bumiputras and everyone knows that bumiputras are not good at managing money. They can very quickly be overcome by greed and watsetages. Jolly here jolly there. That is exactly what happened. A lot of them now are out of work and living in poverty. I mean real poverty. I have been informed that a MAS Supervisor who has taken the first VSS, was earning around 4K a month before, now has no house, sold his car, and renting a small shack somewhere in the fringes of the jungle. I know this man personally. He has 10 children. I also heard that he said if he could sell the seats of his Vennette van, he would have. Thats desperate. But that is for the simple layman who has no special interest. For those who has interest, the VSS was a way to make money. Abuses of the scheme was rampant. It was said that anybody that has 5 more years of service before retiring cannot take the VSS. A lot of people did apply but was rejected. It was also said that a limit was enforced. Limiting payments to only a maximum of RM300K to RM400K. But this was not true. A Manager and his wife (both working for MAS) got more than RM1.5 mil. Furthermore, the Manager, right after taking the VSS, open up a services company and automatically got a vendor's contract with MAS doing what he was doing before. Brought in foreign workers to do labour work. It was a set up from the start. A lot of 'Managers' got similar contracts with MAS when they open their own companies right after they themself took the VSS. The thing is, while some was denied the VSS, these 'Managers' got away with larger sums that was supposed to be limited. Rampant abuses everywhere.
3.Where is Sharlinie?
It has been months since her disappearance. In the heat of political squables and future uncertainties, this case has been largely forgotten. I have no hope of finding her alive. I hope i am wrong but the reality is, hope for her being found alive is diminishing every day. She may have found the same fate as Juliza which body was found in a bag. She maybe in a shallow grave somewhere. A sad year this 2008. So many things going awfully wrong.
